Clocks fell back at 2 a.m. Sunday, and Detroit got the 1 o'clock hour twice. A lot of people heard a coupon for a second joint.

You smoke the same amount, once, on the new clock. The hour that ran twice was 1 a.m., and the night joint already had its own time. September already answered the dark porch on shorter days after the equinox. This page is the clock jump that post left for later.

What did the clock do at 2 a.m. Sunday? #

At 2 a.m. Sunday the clock jumped from 1:59 a.m. back to 1:00 a.m., so the 1 o'clock hour happened twice. NBC News published that on Oct. 31, 2026. NIST says 2026 daylight saving runs until Nov. 1 at 2 a.m. local time, and at 2 a.m. the local time becomes 1 a.m. and that hour is repeated.

CBS Detroit, updated 5:00 a.m. EST on Nov. 1, said most of the U.S. fell back when the clocks changed at 2 a.m. Sunday. Detroit runs on Eastern time, so that 2 a.m. was this city's rollback. Your phone likely jumped on its own. A stove clock you never touched is still on the old hour until you spin it.

Clock What it shows The joint
Phone, already updated New Eastern Standard Time Once, at the time you already use
Stove still an hour fast Old daylight time Don't treat the wrong clock as a second night
The repeated 1 o'clock 1:00 through 1:59, then again The rollback, not a second session

NBC also said the extra hour doesn't mean a longer Halloween night. That's a party note from the night before. It isn't a reason to light a second joint in the kitchen on Sunday.

Phone clock and the stove clock #

Live on the clock that's already right, and smoke once. If the phone says 1:07 and the microwave still says 2:07, the gap is a clock you forgot. It isn't a second bedtime. Spin the microwave when you see it. Leave the jar where it was after the first joint.

Does the repeated hour earn a second joint? #

No. The night already happened, and the repeated hour doesn't hand you another joint. If you smoke around 10, then 10 happened once. The hour that duplicated was 1 a.m., long after most people put the lighter down.

Somebody still awake at 1:30 lives that minute twice. The night still gets one joint. You don't match the rewind with a second session.

September already covered a dark porch. Sunday's new fact is the jump, 1:59 back to 1:00, on the NBC clock and the NIST rule.

  • 10 p.m. on the new clock happens once
  • 1:30 a.m. can happen twice if you're still up
  • A second joint needs a reason you already had on a normal Saturday, and a rewound clock isn't that reason

When do you smoke on the new clock? #

You smoke at the same time you already use, once, after the phone has the new time. Sunday night is Eastern Standard Time. If your habit is a joint after dinner, dinner still happens once, and so does the joint.

If you waited up to watch the rollback, pick one time for the night. The first 1:30 or the second 1:30, not both. Put it on the phone if you need the reminder. When that hour comes around again, the jar stays shut.

Divine Toke is Michigan sun-grown flower, sold by mail. This page isn't a shop schedule, and it doesn't pick an amount for you. The amount stays the one you already know.

What if you worked the repeated hour? #

If you were on a night shift, the repeated hour can be an hour you worked, and it still isn't a second joint. Auto plants, hospital floors, and warehouse docks around metro Detroit sometimes run straight through 2 a.m. The punch clock may show that hour twice. Your break doesn't.

Night-shift parents who are sorting school mornings against day sleep already have a page for that fight: shift work after Labor Day. This Sunday doesn't replace it. You work the hour if the shift says so. You smoke once on that shift, the way you did last week.

Shift The repeated hour The joint
Overnight, on the clock at 2 a.m. You may work it Once on the shift, not once per 1 o'clock
Home before the rollback You slept through it, or you didn't The evening joint already happened
Off Sunday, back Monday You wake to the new clock Same amount Sunday night

What about kids on Monday morning? #

Kids can wake on the old body time while the alarm says it's earlier, and you still don't add a joint Sunday night to get ahead of Monday. CBS Detroit said the change can throw young kids off more than it helps a parent who wanted a longer night. That's a morning problem on a school week. Bedtime moves with the new clock. The joint stays one.

If Monday drop-off feels mean, that's the clock. It isn't a sign the jar was light.

What about a pill on a fixed interval? #

A medicine on a fixed interval belongs with the pharmacist or the prescriber who set it. The rollback can make the next pill look early or late on the wall. That's their question. It isn't a cannabis question.

Leave the pill where they set the gap. Don't slide a prescription, skip one, or double one because 1 a.m. showed up twice, and don't move it so it lines up with the joint.

Did the extra hour fix Sunday tiredness? #

The clock gained an hour, and that didn't repair your sleep. Smoking more won't patch Sunday tiredness either. CBS described the change as a gained hour of sleep. A news label isn't a receipt that you woke up fixed.

If you want what the sleep papers actually measured, those pages already exist. The long one is the cannabis and sleep guide. The review is the Cochrane review on medical cannabis and insomnia. Felt sleep versus a machine is felt sleep versus measured sleep. Short days and low mood have their own page too: shorter days and low mood. This page stays on the jump.

What does 7:06 a.m. light change? #

Detroit sunrise on Sunday was 7:06 a.m. EST, and that minute doesn't change how much you smoke. The U.S. Naval Observatory has sunrise at 7:06 a.m. and sunset at 5:25 p.m. for downtown coordinates on Eastern Standard Time. The NWS Detroit climate report, issued 1:35 a.m. EDT Sunday, prints sunrise 7:06 a.m. EST and sunset 5:27 p.m. EST.

Saturday was still daylight time. The same observatory, at the daylight offset, had sunrise at 8:04 a.m. and sunset at 6:27 p.m. (USNO for Oct. 31). Morning light showed up about an hour earlier on the clock. Evening light left about an hour earlier on the clock. You can step outside in that 7:06 light if you're up. The minute doesn't tell you to smoke less at night or more in the morning.

A table that puts Sunday sunrise at 6:12 a.m. and sunset at 4:59 p.m. is a different town that happens to be named Detroit. USNO and NWS agree on 7:06 a.m. and a sunset a little after 5:25 p.m. Use those.

Moment Saturday, daylight time Sunday, standard time
Time in force Eastern Daylight Eastern Standard
Sunrise 8:04 a.m. 7:06 a.m. EST
Sunset 6:27 p.m. 5:25 p.m. USNO, 5:27 p.m. NWS
Civil twilight ends about 6:56 p.m. about 5:55 p.m.
The joint Once Once, same amount

Does a 5 p.m. Detroit punch-out change the drive? #

A Detroit shift that ends near 5 now drives home while the light is leaving, and you still don't smoke in the lot. USNO has Sunday sunset at 5:25 p.m. and civil twilight ending about 5:55 p.m. EST. NWS has sunset at 5:27 p.m. The sky looks late by the time you reach the car. The session waits until you're done driving.

Blood, a number on a test, and what Michigan treats as impairment already live on blood THC and driving. That page keeps the law. The new fact here is the minute. A 5 o'clock punch-out lands in that fading window.

What if someone already uses a night gummy? #

If someone already uses an edible on a schedule, the repeated hour still isn't a second one, and edibles aren't in the Divine Toke shop. Timing, meds, and older adults have a page: edibles, timing, and meds for seniors. An earlier dark porch in Michigan is the sunset minute above. It isn't a new gummy.

FAQ #

Did Michigan fall back at 2 a.m. with the rest of the country? #

Yes. Detroit fell back at 2 a.m. Sunday with most of the country. CBS said most of the U.S. changed at 2 a.m. Sunday. NIST sets 2026's end at Nov. 1, 2 a.m. local time. Detroit's local time is Eastern, so that 2 a.m. was this city's change.

I smoke at 10. Did 10 happen twice? #

No. 10 p.m. happens once, and the hour that repeated was 1 a.m. NBC News said the clocks jump from 1:59 a.m. back to 1 a.m. Your 10 o'clock joint doesn't get a twin out of that.

I was awake for both 1:30s. Do I smoke for each? #

You smoke once for the night, even if you watched 1:30 twice. NIST says that hour is repeated so the day has an extra hour. The extra hour sits on the clock. The jar already did its job.

I work nights in Detroit. Does the plant owe me a second joint? #

The shift may owe you the hour on the clock, and the jar doesn't owe you a second joint. If the overnight runs through 2 a.m., you may work the repeated hour. Smoke the way you did on the last overnight, once. School mornings against day sleep stay on shift work after Labor Day.

My kid woke early Monday. Do I add one Sunday night? #

No. An early wake is the old body time meeting the new clock. CBS noted young kids can get thrown off by the change. Bedtime follows the new clock on a school morning. The joint stays the one you already use.

Can I move a nightly pill so it matches the joint? #

No. Leave the pill with the pharmacist or the prescriber who set the interval. The rollback can make a fixed gap look early or late on the wall clock. Don't slide a prescription because the night joint moved, and don't double the pill because 1 a.m. showed twice.

CBS said we gained an hour of sleep. Did that fix Sunday? #

CBS called it a gained hour of sleep, and the clock moved. That isn't proof Sunday tiredness got repaired. Smoking more won't patch it either. How a night felt versus what a machine measured is on felt sleep versus measured sleep, not here.

Sunrise was 7:06. Do I change what I smoke in the morning? #

No. 7:06 a.m. is when the sun came up, and it doesn't resize the joint. USNO and the NWS climate report both print 7:06 a.m. EST for Detroit. Morning light is a clock fact.

It's dark around 5:25. Can I smoke and then drive home? #

No. The ride home gets dark, and you still don't smoke and drive. Sunset is 5:25 p.m. on the USNO clock and 5:27 p.m. on the NWS report, and civil twilight runs to about 5:55 p.m. The driving page is blood THC and what Michigan drivers need.

Does a darker porch mean a bigger night than September? #

No. September already answered the dark porch, and Sunday's new fact is the rollback. That page is shorter days after the equinox. Low mood and short days sit on their own post.

Where do the sleep papers live? #

They live on the posts that already did the reading. Start with the sleep guide and the Cochrane insomnia review. This page doesn't recap them.

Does Divine Toke sell a gummy for the time change? #

No. Edibles aren't in the shop. If a senior in Michigan already uses them on a schedule, timing and meds are on the seniors edibles page. The repeated hour still isn't a second one.

The hour you already had #

If you're still up when 1 o'clock shows twice, you already had your night. The second 1 o'clock is just the clock. September's dark porch stays on shorter days after the equinox. The drive stays on blood THC and Michigan drivers.
